Will the Vertical Project Deliver Results?

When you think of a vertical jump, you probably think about Michael Jordan. You can see him, seemingly flying through the air. They didn`t call him “Air Jordan” for nothing. He got big air. He wasn`t the biggest player on his team at 6`6”, and by today`s standards, he wasn`t very big at all. So, how did he get to learn how to fly like that? Was he born with the ability to jump high or did he train? Remember, that he was cut from his high school team when he was a sophomore, so he couldn`t have had that big a jump back then!

Michael Jordan is the measure by which all other basketball players are measured, and some of his dunks are legendary. It is reasonable, therefore, that people who play recreational ball, or even high school or college ball, want to have a little of Jordan in them. They want to be able to jump high, even higher than anyone else on their team. One program that a lot of recreational players have tried using is The Vertical Project.

Many online vertical jump programs are based on one thing alone - getting a quick result with little work. The Vertical Project is one of those programs, although it does come with a guarantee that you will get at least 8 inches in your jump in just two weeks. For someone who has no training in plyometrics or no leap to speak of, that may be possible, but for those of us who have been trying and training, that is unlikely.

The key to a significant increase in your vertical leap has to come from several different places. First of all, there is the power. You have to be strong in all the right places. Without strength, no matter what else you have, you will be limited in what you can do.

The second part of your vertical leap has to come from quickness. After all, that is the equation, isn`t it? Strength and quickness equals power, and power is what creates the jump. So, if you know that, the rest should be easy, right?

You have to have the proper nutrition to make sure all of those fast-twitch muscle fibers are ready and able to fire when you need them. You have to flexibility and balance, and your reflexes have to be trained. There is a lot more to a vertical jump than most programs will tell you.
